The Decision Context

Chapter 2 emphasized the significance of the information needs of deci­

sion makers in shaping policy research. Each case discusses the informa­

tion needs of the various decision makers, relating them to the typology

of needs discussed in that chapter. Because real research situations virtu­

ally always require a variety of types of information, the discussion in

some cases identifies the relative priority of different information needs.
