ABSTRACT
Advocaid provides community-based support independent from the school in the form of advocacy to parents in their interaction with schools. Advocacy is defined as representation on behalf of a parent in respect of difficulties the parent may be having with schools. As the etymology implies, an advocate is intended to represent parents’ interests and in cases of exclusions may, indeed, act in a stronger support role analogous to defending a client.
