ABSTRACT
Actionaid is a voluntary, community-based parent support organisation set up by the researcher, with a collection of parents. The parents were met, in the first instance through schools and the local community during my employment as a home-school liaison teacher. It aims to support parents of African and Caribbean children in supporting their children’s education and ally their needs with that of the school, and the action research opportunities afforded by the role.
