ABSTRACT

At 16–19, tutoring is vitally important. To perform the role effectively can be immensely satisfying for an individual teacher. Responsibilities can range from writing UCAS references, to ongoing academic monitoring, to providing a PHSE or General Studies programme. A tutor can make a significant contribution to the educational experience of 16–19 learners, can aid retention and can improve outcomes in terms of course grades, examination results and progression.
