ABSTRACT
To be included in the in-depth review, a paper had to be about literacy teaching/learning by children between 5-16 years old, in a school or school-related setting. After-school activities organized by, say, a local community centre would be acceptable if the other criteria were met, but a private project organized by a learner at home would not.
