ABSTRACT
This chapter broadly considers the different types of technology which can be used for CAA. Due to the rapid pace of technological change, this chapter does not attempt to review particular software and systems. Rather, it provides an overview of CAA delivery methods including optically captured CAA (OMR, OCR, ICR) and screen-based CAA (computerand web-based). The chapter also addresses related issues such as security, interoperability and standards.
