ABSTRACT

It is a sad fact that a very small number of children are largely indifferent to sanctions that result from their poor behaviour. They may come from tough backgrounds or may have become cynical about school and education generally. No matter how much effort you make to ensure that they conform, they seem to be able to shrug it all off and carry on in much the same way as before. The involvement of parents is important in the process but even this does not always provide a solution. This very small minority of children should already be receiving additional support and adult intervention. In the unlikely event that it is not, you should discuss the situation urgently with your tutor.
