ABSTRACT
Very few new teachers are given whole new courses or modules to design, organize and facilitate. The norm is that a teaching assistant or postgraduate student will be asked to give a number of lectures in a pre-existing course. Clinicians and other professional and specialist contributors are likely to be asked to work as a ‘guest lecturer’ and provide input on a series of given topics. This chapter assumes this ‘contributing to a course’ starting point.
