ABSTRACT

URL (pronounced ‘earl’) is the unique ‘address’ of a file on the Internet.A browser is a computer program that enables you to view web pages on the Internet. Although the NetScape browser is very popular, Microsoft Internet Explorer is catching up and is likely to become very popular, particularly with home users. The main advantage of Internet Explorer is that Microsoft gives it away for free, while NetScape Navigator/Communicator is a commercial

software package. There are things that NetScape Navigator/Communicator can do and Internet Explorer can’t, and vice versa, but in general they are equally powerful.
