ABSTRACT
To repeat a previously emphasized distinction, my preferred mode of utopianism is also one that embraces a conception of hope that is ‘complex’ rather than ‘simple’, to the degree to which it is grounded in a comprehensive review of those factors which may structurally inhibit particular kinds of reform and which therefore need to be overcome if progress of a certain kind is effectively to be initiated and achieved.
