ABSTRACT
Effects on the environment include effects on the built environment as well as effects on the natural environment. Although effects on ecosystems involving humans can be considered as part of effects on the environment, wider effects and effects on ecosystems not involving humans are the main effects of interest in this chapter. Areas usually covered are given in Box 11.1.
