ABSTRACT

Chapters 4-5 have explored the requirements of a meta-ethical theory on which moral education can be based. In §4.1, I explored the connection between theories of moral development and meta-ethics. We saw that moral development is not the development of a single capacity (contra Kohlberg, who identifies only moral judgements about moral dilemmas). Rather, it involves the simultaneous development of many interdependent capacities.
