At the last interview I attended I think that’s why it went wrong – it was for a pastoral deputy. I thought that they were looking for a certain type of person and I think I tried to convey the impression that I was that person. I didn’t get the job and I think in hindsight that this was a good thing. It wouldn’t have worked there. I think that I would have found the work frustrating and boring. My strength is in the curriculum. I have my views on the ways in which assessment can be carried out to maximum effect. I have opinions on how the quality of teaching can be improved and I’m good at systems. I think that the model of pastoral/curriculum deputy has been subjected to quite a lot of discussion but I do tend to lean the curriculum way.
