ABSTRACT

The only remaining advice I can give is to repeat what I said at the beginning. Practice will improve your skills. If you think about what you are doing, know something about audience psychology and the do’s and don’ts of speaking, and listen to criticism and advice from friends, you can become a sound and effective speaker. Get a close and trusted friend to observe you practise your talk, and take careful note of what he or she says. When you have given the talk, come back to this book, and read the chapters relating to what you judge you did best, and did worst. You may find enlightenment on the reasons why things went well, or badly.
