ABSTRACT

In addition to your performance of verse, prose and drama, many boards examine further aspects of performance and I’ve grouped some of these together in this chapter so that we may consider suitable methods of preparation. The subjects I am going to deal with are sight reading, prepared reading, prepared talk and extempore talk. I would also like to think about the discussion which sometimes follows both types of talk, as well as the more formal viva voce which often follows a programme of performed pieces.
