ABSTRACT

A release of a toxic substance will often be able to affect the environment, polluting surface water, ground water, and rivers, and polluting soil so that it cannot be used. Environmental hazards analysis involves

1. determining which substances can be released, and where. 2. determining the rate of release, and total release amount. 3. determining the extent of dispersion and spread, and any hold up which

might occur. 4. determining the mode of transfer to humans, animals and plants, and

any indirect pathway. 5. determining the toxicity of substances to humans, animals, and plants.
