ABSTRACT
Two different “Kashmirs” constitute the dispute between India and Pakistan. First, there is the physical state of Kashmir, the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, sometimes abbreviated as “J&K,” and sometimes just as “Kashmir,” which causes much avoidable confusion.1
