ABSTRACT
Reinforced concrete is a versatile, economical and successful construction material. It can be moulded to a variety of shapes and finishes. Usually it is durable and strong, performing well throughout its service life. However, sometimes it does not perform adequately as a result of poor design, poor construction, inadequate materials selection, a more severe environment than anticipated or a combination of these factors.
