ABSTRACT
It is essential that any cladding should maintain its weatherproofing integrity whilst accommodating the movements of the structure. Where this has not occurred the cladding may become defective.
There is a general difficulty in carrying out inspections of cladding. The lack of access to the rear of claddings can be a particular problem. This can mean that any defects may not be identified until symptoms are obvious.
