ABSTRACT
The subjects of this chapter are the hardware used to measure sound intensity, associated signal processing procedures, the calibration and field checks of measurement systems and the effects of environmental factors. The scope of the description of the hardware is limited to general accounts of the transducer arrangements and signal processing systems which are currently in use at the time of revision of this book. For detailed descriptions and specifications of commercially available equipment the reader should contact equipment suppliers.
