ABSTRACT

In Norway valuation is carried out extensively in connection with the sale and financing of real estate property. In this context three principal groups, namely property owners, investors and financiers, utilize the services of valuers. Previously, valuation services were mainly requisitioned by financiers requiring a valuation document as verification of value but also serving as a description of the property’s technical condition. With respect to investment in real estate the key actors are property developers, private companies, public authorities (though this is mainly for the disposal of property), property managers and property companies.
