Two of the great benefits of a BEMS are its ability to communicate and its ability to monitor plant (Chapter 1). The monitoring of plant performance often relates to logging sensor data for later transposing to graphs, the logging only being limited by the memory size of the outstations. Frequency of monitoring is in the hands of the operator and too much stored data can be as much of a handicap as lack of data.
