ABSTRACT
All air-conditioning systems rely upon the flow of fluid through pipes and ducts. The derived equations used here for airflow in ducts, hot and chilled water and methane in pipes, have advantages over solely using charts and tables, in that the student's own calculator and computer can reproduce published data with acceptable accuracy. The arrangements, formulae and data for spreadsheets for undertaking these calculations are provided.
