ABSTRACT

Playwork is currently going through a great deal of change. The biggest one being that it is increasingly being seen simply as a description for any work adults do with children after school, rather than as a particular approach to play, driven by particular values. An approach that is trying to ensure that children continue to have access to experiences which have always been available in the past, but which are now increasingly difficult for many to access. Experiences which have great developmental and evolutionary significance.
