ABSTRACT

On April 26, 1968, the top management of Moore-McCormack Lines received an internally produced 1970-1979 cargo and profit analysis for four new roll-on/roll-off (also referred to as Ro-Ro) ships ordered in June 1966 and scheduled to enter service in 1969. Several preliminary profit studies had been completed before the ship design had been chosen, but the 1968 study was the first to include cargo data from the 1967 sailings.
