ABSTRACT
Pipes and fi ttings should be suitable for their purposes and, where applicable, should comply with the requirements of the relevant British Standards (Clause 6 of BS lists British Standards referred to in document). The choice of materials depends on the size and function of the pipework, the temperature and constituents of the discharge and the ambient conditions, including temperature. Other considerations are the weight, physical strength, ease of assembly and maintenance requirements of the pipework.
