ABSTRACT
In this and all other studies described here, clofibrate was supplied by ICI Pharmaceuticals in batches tested for identity, strength and purity within their predicted shelf-life. The monkeys were housed individually in stainless-steel cages; the ambient temperature was 20° C, humidity was not recorded and the animal room was exposed to natural daylight. The animals were fed a standard rat diet (Oakes, Congleton, UK) incorporating clofibrate and androsterone
