ABSTRACT

Postproduction happens after the production phase where all the moving images have been acquired as well as much of the sound needed to make a programme. The process of postproduction is everything that is needed to finish the programme and make it ready for transmission. The technical aspects of this process are digital and are done on computer or in a video editing facility. It can be a costly and complex process using sophisticated high-end editing facilities to create computer generated images (CGI) and integrate live footage with CGI material, although straightforward bluescreen techniques are available with professional video-editing software for a desktop computer.
