An American folk-styled pop group, consisting of Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, and Mary Ellin Travers. They began to perform together in New York in 1962, and were successful on a national tour. Having signed a Warner label contract, their debut album remained on the charts for two years, Peter, Paul and Mary (Warner W #1449; 1962), and followed it a few months later with Movin’ (Warner W #1473; 1963); it remained on the charts for 76 weeks.
