ABSTRACT

Belgian tenor, born in Bruges. He studied at the Paris Conservatory, and made his debut at the Opéra-Comique on 19 July 1888; then sang in Nice and Monte Carlo. He returned to Paris, and performed in Brussels, then at the Metropolitan Opera from 1898 to 1901, and again in 1904-1905. Among his roles at the Metropolitan were Radames, Rodolfo, Edgar, and Faust, the latter three sung opposite Nellie Melba. He became a professor at the Paris Conservatory in 1911. Saléza died in Paris.
