ABSTRACT

Evolving from the large brass ensemble Summit Brass in the late 1980s, Summit is an internationally distributed label that makes a point of allowing its musicians to get their music to the public, while being treated fairly in the process. The company is committed to state-of-the-art sound, and has released material composed by Daniel Asia, David Sampson, William Goldstein, Joseph Turrin, and Stephen Gryc, among others, and recorded performances by a number of individuals and ensembles, including Robert Sullivan, James Rensink, Pete Barenbregge, Frank Russo, Joseph Alessi, Philip Smith, Robert Hamilton, Seunghee Lee, the Master Chorale of Orange County, the University of Georgia Wind Symphony, and the Boston Brass.
