ABSTRACT
Before a system can be designed to support SA, a clear understanding must be achieved regarding what ‘supporting SA’ means in a particular domain. This understanding is accomplished by delineating the operators’ dynamic information needs (i.e., their SA requirements). SA requirements focus on the dynamic information requirements relevant in a particular domain rather than the static knowledge the operators must possess, such as system knowledge or rules and procedures (Endsley, 2000a).
