ABSTRACT

Little research has been performed on the incidence and special concerns of skin disease in the sizeable Asian community in the United States even though Asian-Americans constitute 4.2% of the U.S. population according to the most recent U.S. Census.1 As a result, the information contained in this chapter is derived from the handful of articles addressing specific skin conditions in Asians as well as from peer and personal experiences from the United States and Singapore.
