ABSTRACT

In doing research for this book, I noticed that other authors of crisis management books and articles have shown the normal crisis passing through as many as six different stages. I feel the three I have chosen to discuss will make it easier for the reader to determine which stage a crisis is in at the time they are dealing with it.)

When someone in an organization discovers a “critical* situation,” they usually bring it to the attention of their executives. This is known as the Pre-Crisis “warning.” (It is also called a “precursor” stage by some crisis management consultants.) At this point in time, the “critical situation” is known only inside the organization and is not yet visible outside the organization.
