ABSTRACT
Part III discussed the principles of multilevel secure database systems. In particular, we provided a historical perspective including a discussion of the Air Force Summer Study report as well as the TDI. We also provided an overview of the various architectures for MLS/DBMSs. As we have stated, many of the developments in MLS/DBMSs have focused on the relational model. Therefore, in Part IV we discuss various aspects of MLS/DBMSs based on the relational data model.
