Conclusion to Part VII

Part VII described security for object and multimedia systems. In Chapter 18 we discussed discretionary and mandatory security for object database systems. We discussed policy and design issues as well as provided an overview of specific systems. In Chapter 19 we focused on two important aspects of objects and security. First we discussed security for distributed object systems. Then we discussed the use of object modeling to design secure applications. In Chapter 20 we discussed secure multimedia data management systems. In particular, models, architectures, and functions of a secure multimedia data management system were described.
