ABSTRACT
Although Marxism is above all a philosophy, located slightly to the left of the philosophical ideas of the Young Hegelians such as Feuerbach, Bauer and Strauss, it has always sought to project itself as essentially an economic theory. It was Marx himself who played up the economic dimension of his theory by considering Capital to be the cornerstone of his entire ideology.
