ABSTRACT

In Chapter 5 we present our view of the pre-conditions for lasting school reform. We believe that reforms to date, such as those in Schools of the Future, were a necessary but insufficient stage along the way and that much remains to be done. The critics of those reforms have, for the most part, missed the point of it all, or have remained trapped in an industrial frame of thinking, although in some instances, often without realizing it, they have simply highlighted what more needs to be done to advance the cause.
