ABSTRACT

Psychodrama has been used with groups of people struggling with psychotic experiences and hallucinations since the 1930s (see Chapter 5). In this chapter I describe my practice. I also present research participants’ opinions and relevant theory focusing in particular on the techniques of doubling, mirroring, role reversal, the use of auxiliaries to play roles in a protagonist’s drama, concretising, spontaneity and creativity. Roger said of psychodrama: I find it very helpful because you can act out your own problems and you can help other people as well at the same time.
