ABSTRACT
We now turn from considerations of what questions we might ask, what sources of genetic information are available and what analytical tools we can use to address these questions, to a discussion of the answers that can be provided. We will follow a loosely chronological course in the next two sections, and begin in this section by examining the path leading to the origin of modern humans.
