ABSTRACT

This last chapter has two broad objectives. First, the research findings obtained from the qualitative case studies and quantitative surveys are analysed and discussed in relation to the three research questions posed in the first chapter. Second, three major implications of the research findings which relate to government regulation of enterprises, research on HRM and HR practices in China are drawn for HRM development in China’s industrial enterprises. A transitional HRM model is proposed to indicate the emerging role of HRM in China even though the role is still in transition with its ongoing economic reforms.
