ABSTRACT
Therapeutic devices, unless they are exempted in the regulations or by written notice from the Secretary of the Australian Department of Health and Aging (DOHA), are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. The act applies to therapeutic devices regardless of whether they are produced domestically or are imported. The provisions of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 also apply to devices produced for export from Australia.
