ABSTRACT

After working with the non-diet approach for several months, a client stated, “This is the simplest and the most complex thing I’ve ever done in my life.” She understood that the concept of eating when hungry and stopping when full is so basic that it should take place naturally and easily. At the same time, as a result of years of dieting and compulsive eating, she no longer knew how to listen to her physiological cues; furthermore, eating and weight were now fraught with meaning that needed to be unraveled so that she could move in the direction of attuned eating.
