ABSTRACT
Increased industrial emissions, fossil fuel combustion, deforestation and related burning of biomass, and changes in land use and management practices have changed the gaseous composition of the earth’s atmosphere. These activities have resulted in increased emissions of naturally occurring radiatively active trace gases (e.g., carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide), known as “greenhouse gases.”
