1 A TRUE STORY ABOUT DREAMS

I am eight years old and I am standing in the school playing field. Other children look up at the sky with astonishment as a small aircraft circles lower and lower, until it is low enough to start unloading boxes which fall to the ground like Red Cross parcels. They are for me. I am not astonished because I have been waiting for them, but I had not really believed they would ever arrive. The other children watch in admiration as I start to open the boxes and reveal all the beautiful things that are just for me.
