ABSTRACT
STEVEN KOSSARD was born in Shanghai on February 9, 1944. His career has centered on Sydney, Australia where he attended college and received his medical education and earned a Ph.D. at Sydney University in 1973 for his research on melanoma. After a year in dermatology at St. Vincent’s Hospital he finished his residency at Mayo Clinic in 1979. As a dermatopathology fellow working with Winkelmann, he published this landmark paper on a unique necrotizing xanthogranuloma.
