ABSTRACT

CAMILLE MELCHIOR GIBERT was born in Paris August 18, 1797. Little is known of his childhood. He served under Biett at Saint Louis as an interne in 1818 and 1819, received his M.D. in 1822, and entitled his thesis, Some Reflections on Modern Medicine. He became a Physician to the Hospitals of Paris about 1831, and often substituted for Biett, Lugol, and Manry at l’Hôpital Saint Louis. In 1840 he became permanently associated with Saint Louis.
