ABSTRACT

JONATHAN HUTCHINSON was born at Selby in 1828, of an old Quaker family. He began his medical career as an apprentice to Mr. Caleb Williams, a York surgeon, and in 1847 he entered St. Bartholomew’s Hospital qualifying M.R.C.S., L.S.A. in 1850. Among his more important appointments were those in Blackfriars Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, and London Hospital.
