ABSTRACT
JOHN JAMES PRINGLE was born in 1855 in Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. After medical schooling in Edinburgh he spent several years in Vienna and Paris attending the clinics of Hebra and Kaposi as well as Vidal and Fournier. His life long association was with Middlesex Hospital in London, where he was chief of the dermatology section.
