ABSTRACT

DOMENICO MAJOCCHI was born August 5, 1849, in Roccalvecce, a town near Rome. After preliminary education in his native city, he entered the seminary at Bagnorea in preparation for a career in philosophy. His thoughts turned to medicine, however, and he matriculated at la Sapienza, taking his degree in 1873. After a year in general practice in Roccalvecce, he returned to Rome, and devoted himself entirely to the study of dermatology and syphilology.
